Immersion Spanish in Coatepec, Veracruz, Mexico
Come with us to romantic Mexico for serious study in a beautiful setting.
Our Immersion Spanish program offers you the experience of living the
culture while acquiring knowledge of Mexican history and customs. Our
communicative approach teaches you everyday language which you will
begin to use from the very first day of arrival. Interwoven throughout
the session are local field trips and cultural events. Unrivaled historical
and cultural wealth, combined with the hospitality and warmth of its
people, make Mexico your perfect destination for the study of Spanish.
Immersion at VISTAS does not mean sitting in a classroom all day. We
will be visiting markets, cultural events, museums, as well as singing
(in Spanish) and cooking. It is immersion into culture and language.
You may choose 2, 3 and 4 week sessions offered through-out the year
in the colonial town of Oaxaca. See our Schedule
for current dates.
VISTAS' classes are designed for teachers and other professionals who
need to communicate with Spanish speaking students and clients in diverse
job situations. Individual or small group instruction brings together
motivated students and skilled instructors who work together 6 hours
daily. At the beginning level, our program emphasizes an oral communication
approach with the exclusive use of Spanish in the classroom. For more
advanced students authentic written material is selected to increase
proficiency in reading and writing while still allowing ample opportunities
for oral communication. Through both formal and informal interaction,
all participants gain a cultural and linguistic understanding of Mexico
and its people. From the day of arrival until the hour of departure
you will find yourself immersed in the daily life of Mexico and learning
Spanish. Woven throughout the course are visits to museums, markets,
and cultural events.
